Volunteer Registration

Djapo Cultural Arts Institute is seeking dedicated volunteers to join us for our Juneteenth Culture Fest!

Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11:00AM–6:00PM 

at Cain Park in Cleveland Heights,

Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 11:00AM–6:00PM 

at The Pivot Center for Dance, Art & Expression.

Overview

This annual event is a vibrant celebration of history, culture, and community, featuring live performances, an interactive vendor marketplace, educational exhibits, and engaging activities for all ages

 

All volunteers (new and returning) must complete this application. To be considered, applications must be submitted by May 31, 2025. Once your application is received, a staff member will review it and follow up with additional details. There will also be 2 volunteer training sessions closer to the festival date. (It is mandatory that you attend at least one).

 

To thank you for your service and in exchange for your time and energy as a committed volunteer, we are delighted to provide the following:

  • If you are volunteering for 4 hours, you will receive breakfast and/or lunch, a volunteer t/shirt and festival lanyard. 

  • If you are volunteering for more than 8 hours, you will receive all of the above in addition to 1 complimentary ticket to the evening Saturday concert and/or 2 free Sunday workshop tickets.

 

We appreciate your dedication and support in bringing this meaningful celebration of culture and excellence to life!

Greeters: Welcome and guide guests as they enter the festival.
Interactive Cultural Stations: Facilitate engagement and understanding at hands-on cultural displays.
Children's Village (Emancipation Park Kid's Zone): Ensure a safe, fun, and organized environment for children.
Workshop Monitors: Support artists and attendees during movement-based workshops.
Vendor Marketplace: Support the organization and flow of vendor booths.
Educational and Resource Area (Juneteenth Learning Lounge): Facilitate access to Juneteenth-focused educational materials and discussions.
Artist Green Room (Hospitality): Provide hospitality and coordination for performing artists.
Djapo Merchandise Table: Manage sales and information at the official merchandise table.
Stage Manager Assistants for Performances: Support the stage manager with performance coordination.
Main Stage Evening Performance: Support the stage manager with performance coordination.
