Djapo Cultural Arts Institute is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the preservation of traditional art, dance, music, song, history and folklore of Africa and throughout the diaspora. Djapo's mission is to engage the community in the preservation and understanding of African diasporic works in music, dance, history and folklore through research, dialogue, community building initiatives, International travel, and theatrical performance in order to foster collective learning and growth. The company expands the reach of artistic possibilities making long lasting connections while celebrating the universal spirit of dance.

Djapo strives to be a globally recognized force, passionately preserving traditional and diasporic art forms. Our vision is to create a vibrant hub of culture that serves as a catalyst for artistic exchange, fostering a deep appreciation for the legacy of African culture while nurturing creativity, understanding, and connection among individuals from all walks of life. Through dynamic programming, interactive exhibits, and collaborative initiatives, we aim to be a guiding light, illuminating the profound contributions of African art to the global cultural mosaic while inspiring generations to come.
